Our mission is to provide immediate, small-scale financial support to artists so that they can be freed to create.

We undertook this mission when we realized how complex, difficult, and slow the average grant application and review is. We wanted to remove the administrative hurdles and headaches and find a way to provide an infusion of support to artists when they need it.

That is why we provide micro-grants: smaller grants from between $50 to $5,000 that are intended to provide help an artist with an immediate need rather than long-term funding of a specific project.

Our guidelines for funding are simple:

  1. Show immediate need
  2. Explain the purpose of the funds to advance their art
  3. Demonstrate the impact of the funds
  4. Provide proof of the use of funds

The Foundation is an equal opportunity funder that does not discriminate based on race, gender, or identity. We provide equal access to funds for all artists, including:

  1. Visual artists
  2. Digital artists
  3. Literary artists
  4. Performing artists
  5. Conceptual artists
  6. Material artists

The Foundation provides appropriate funding, based on the need and availability of funds, to all artists. Aside from the most obvious needs, such as securing basic materials and equipment necessary for the creation of their art, funding can be used for:

  1. Studio space
  2. Software and hardware
  3. Exhibition fees
  4. Publication costs
  5. Living expenses
  6. Other demonstrated expenses that will enable the creation of art
